LOS ANGELES & SALT LAKE CITY WAREHOUSES

Match your order quantity and replenishment plan to the supply arrangement that fits your business.

Begin with your usage pattern

Start with consumption by item, location and size rather than choosing an order quantity solely from the unit price. List normal usage, changes in demand and the time your operation can tolerate a stockout. For a new product, a sample evaluation and a smaller initial order can help clarify the specification.

Compare landed order costs

Request the item price and shipping terms together. Include case quantity, destination, receiving arrangements and any handling needs. A lower product price can be offset by freight or excess inventory. Compare offers using the same units and delivery scope.

Use case orders for evaluation and replenishment

Case orders can suit trial programs or smaller replenishment needs when the specified item is stocked. Confirm the case pack, stock location and dispatch timing. Availability at one warehouse should not be assumed to apply to every item or size.

Plan pallet quantities around receiving capacity

For larger requirements, ask for cartons per pallet, pallet dimensions and weight. Confirm whether the destination has a dock, forklift or other receiving constraints. Include the size and color mix in the order so both sides can prepare accurate packing and freight information.

Define custom production before the first run

For private label or custom products, approve the specification, packaging and sample before agreeing the production schedule. Ask about minimum quantities and lead times for the selected construction. Use consumption and actual replenishment results to adjust subsequent orders.
